I know that I seem to be obsessing about this car, but it intrigues me and this is the first that I have found with an actual price tag, whether inflated or not. I would love to add this car to the museum collection. I would love to see one in person, the craftsmanship must be out of this world.

Pedal cars of the Modern Era Continued http://seiverlingonline.com/blog/2009/01/25/pedal-cars-of-the-modern-era-continued/ http://seiverlingonline.com/blog/2009/01/25/pedal-cars-of-the-modern-era-continued/#comments Sun, 25 Jan 2009 19:38:05 +0000 Administrator http://seiverlingonline.com/blog/2009/01/25/pedal-cars-of-the-modern-era-continued/ As I had noted in my previous blog, “Hopefully more manufacturers will be coming out with other intriguing pedal cars as these”, well I believe I got my wish. I was at my local John Deere Dealer the other day and I noticed two new pedal vehicles. One vehicle was similar to the Ferrari FXX Exclusive with tractor tires and a smokestack and the other was a pedal combine. When I got home I went on www.outbacktoystore.com to find out more information on these new pedals. The pedal vehicle that looked like the FXX is called BERG John Deere BF-3 Pedal Go-Kart w/ 3 Speeds, it has a 3 speed transmission, a 3-point hitch like a real tractor for optional attachments, and many other neat features like the Ferrari, (can also accommodate adults). The pedal combine is about the same size as your typical pedal tractor and has a corn head and a hitch to pull wagons. These are great for collectors and kids alike, what a time to be a kid!!!

Pedal cars of the Modern Era http://seiverlingonline.com/blog/2008/08/07/pedal-cars-of-the-modern-era/ http://seiverlingonline.com/blog/2008/08/07/pedal-cars-of-the-modern-era/#comments Thu, 07 Aug 2008 04:38:21 +0000 Administrator http://seiverlingonline.com/blog/2008/08/07/pedal-cars-of-the-modern-era/ In the 1920’s and 1930’s pedal car manufacturers like American National, Gendron, and Garton made extravagant pedal cars that had full suspensions, gear boxes, hand brakes, many other neat features. As the years went on, the pedal cars became less extravagant and simple. The “sad face” pedal car is a great example of how simple, (less cost to buy), became more popular. Today we have, what I call reproductions that are still simple and relatively easy to afford, that are produced all over the world. While you can make these reproductions into one of a kind pedal cars, with some decals and some metal fabrication, there have been a few “new” pedal cars that have come out within the last year or so that remind me of earlier years. The two that come to mind are the Audi Autounion Type C pedal car and the Ferrari FXX Exclusive. The Audi Autounion Type C is a pedal car with a price of over $10,000 with chain drive, detailed instruments, leather seat, and many other jaw dropping details. The other pedal car that came out in 2008 is the Ferrari FXX Exclusive. It has a speedometer, lap counter, 7 speed transmission, rear disc brakes, 12” alloy rims and low profile tires, and can hold up to 350 pounds, (an adult could ride it). The Ferrari FXX Exclusive has a retail price of just over $2,000. Hopefully more manufacturers will be coming out with other intriguing pedal cars as these. Let me know if you have found any others that are as special as these.
